Biotherm, a division of L’Oréal Australia Pty Ltd, respects the privacy of every visitor to Biotherm’s website and every member of Club Biotherm.

This privacy policy has been formulated in accordance with the National Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and outlines the information Biotherm will collect from you when you use the Biotherm website and how we will use that information. This policy also tells you how you can verify the accuracy of your personal information submitted to Biotherm and how you can request that we delete or update your personal information. This policy is in addition to Biotherm’s website terms and conditions of use and should be read in conjunction with such terms and conditions of use.

When you visit the Biotherm website, we may ask you for personal information, such as contact information, personal details and your email address. We collect and use your personal information so that we can provide you with the benefits of Biotherm developments and news, and to allow us to develop new products, offers and services which are relevant to you. From time to time we may use the information you give us for marketing purposes (for example to develop or promote complementary products or services). Personal information received from you via the Biotherm website will only be used by Biotherm, except as otherwise required by law or authorised as Biotherm specifically discloses to you when the information is collected.

Biotherm has also created a membership program which offers a personalised Biotherm experience. To find out how to become a member, visit the membership pages on the Biotherm website.

The benefits of Club Biotherm membership include: your own personalised page on the Biotherm website; e-newsletters; interactive tools and services; and access to promotional offers and competitions. We will also send you member-only offers and regular updates on our products and services. We collect and use personal information from you so that we can provide you with the benefits of Club Biotherm, and to allow us to develop new products, offers and services which are relevant to you. Once you become a Club Biotherm member, we may continue to collect personal information about you in order to provide you with the full benefits of membership.

When you visit the Biotherm website, we will not collect any personal information about you unless you provide it to us voluntarily. If you opt not to provide us with personal information you can still access our website; however you will be unable to participate in Club Biotherm. Club Biotherm membership is not necessary to access many parts of the Biotherm website.

We will not disclose personal information received from you via the Biotherm website to third parties except:

  • where third parties appointed by Biotherm (for example, our advertising agencies) require access to personal information in order to perform our services and our business operations;
  • within Biotherm in accordance with the law;
  • where Biotherm is required or authorised by law to disclose personal information, for example to law enforcement agencies;
  • with your consent; or
  • where otherwise consistent with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and any other applicable law.

We take all reasonable steps to ensure that any information we hold about you is kept secure and that this information is accurate and up to date. However, we will not be held responsible for events arising from unauthorised access to your personal information. You must ensure that you keep any password and accounts used on the Biotherm website confidential. Please notify us immediately if there is any unauthorised use of your account by any other Internet user or any other breach of security.

Biotherm may collect and use certain aggregate data called web log information (such as details of your web browser, operating system, pages visited, etc.) and use cookies when you visit our web pages. For example, when you visit our website, our web server will automatically record some non-personal information, including but not limited to the date and time you visited our site, the pages you visited, the referrer (the website you came from), the type of browser you are using (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox), the type of operating system you are using (e.g. Windows, Mac OS), and the domain name and address of your Internet service provider (e.g. Telstra, Optus). If you have not identified yourself on the Biotherm website (such as by registering for Club Biotherm membership or logging in as a member), the information we collect about you will remain anonymous.

Our cookies and web log information do not collect any personal information. They do not contain personal information such as your name or email address.

You can seek to update or verify the accuracy of your personal information submitted to Biotherm through the Biotherm website or Club Biotherm membership by sending an email to privacyllpda@au.loreal.com, or writing to us at: Biotherm Privacy Officer, L’Oréal Luxury Products Division Australia, Level 3, 12 Lord Street, Botany NSW 2019.

You can request that we delete your personal information by canceling your membership to Club Biotherm. This can be done by writing to us at: Club Biotherm, Level 3, 12 Lord Street, Botany NSW 2019. We will make a reasonable effort to delete your personal information once you cancel your Club Biotherm membership, and you will no longer receive any further correspondence from Club Biotherm including our newsletter and direct mailouts.
